Vraechanam
Viraechanam is the preparation of the body for further Ayurvedic treatment by oral administration of ayurvedic herbal combinations in order to eliminate amaa (toxins) and to clean the stomach, small and large intestine and rectum.

Thalam
Thalam consists of the administration of ayurvedic herbal oils on the center of the head. Thalam is given at the very beginning of most treatments to reduce the heat and the heaviness of the head. It is also used to reduce the blood pressure in the head, for semi-paralysis of the face, to balance the energy of the brain cells, neurons and neuro transmitters, ear and eye diseases, taste and smell imbalance, sinusitis, tonsillitis etc.

Kizhi
Kizhi Pindaswetha is an ancient Kerala ( the most southern state of India) technique, which is very effective in eliminating the toxins from the body by opening the pores of the skin and letting the medicines into the tissues of nerves and muscles. Kizhi serves to drain the lymphatic system, to create a better immunity, to improve the circulation of the blood and to move the blockages in the circulatory channels. With the intention of combining the different Marma techniques at the Kerala Ayurvedic Center the practitioners are specially trained to follow the Marma channels of the whole body, which gives a better result than common Kizhi.

Sweathana
One of the important ways to eliminate toxin is by sweating them out. At Kerala Ayurvedic Centre, in a specially designed steam box, we are using ayurvedic herbal combinations selected according to the type, nature and the disease of the patient

Kashaya Snanam (Herbal Bath)
According to the disease, prescribed medicated warm water is used to treat the patient in a bathtub for several minutes depending upon the physical and mental state of the patient. It is useful to reduce excess weight by eliminating toxins and water retention, for skin diseases, vata and kapha imbalances etc. This treatment is also very useful after delivery (post- natal), to strengthen the body, to stimulate blood circulation, to smooth wrinkles in the belly and thigh, oedema, fatigue etc. According to the patient's body type and diseases, specially prepared ayurvedic decoctions are used in Kerala Ayurvedic Centre for this treatment.

Vasthi
Enema therapy with medicated oils and/ decoction in accordance with the cause of the disease. According to ayurvedic principles all metabolic toxins will eventually be accumulated in the bowel. By eliminating the toxins and the waste materials of the bowel the balance of Vata, Pitta and Kapha can be restored.

Nasyam
Oil based herbal combinations and or herbal juices are applied through the nose to evacuate accumulated microcytic elements in the head and the sinuses. This therapy stimulates nervous tissues, strengthens and balances four of the five sensory organs, namely the eyes, ears, nose and tongue. This is a very effective treatment for haemorrhage, paralysis, paresis (weakness) and for balancing the flow of cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF).

Shirovasthi
Shirovasthi is the application of an adequate quantity (approximately 300-400 ml) of appropriate herbal oils to the head, which is kept on for a prescribed time by using a specially made leather cap. This treatment is very effective for head injuries, whiplash, migraine, epilepsy, problems of the central nervous system, paralysis, trembling and weakness.

Pizhichil
This a very special treatment for vata, kapha and some pitta disorders. The effect of Pizhichil is well-known in certain cases like paralysis and semiparalysis, rheumatoid arthritis and many vata problems. A specially designed massage table is used for this treatment. A special selection of ayurvedic oils will be poured slowly all over the body by two therapists who use oil soaked cotton packs to massage the body simultaneously. This treatment takes one hour or more. The effect of the treatment can be slow but long-lasting. The treatment takes 5 to 7 days, in certain cases up to 14 days.
